Performance  

All Crown Signia models come standard with the Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system. The system includes a 2.5-liter DOHC inline-4, a front 199 lb-ft motor, and a rear 89 lb-ft motor that powers the rear wheels for all-wheel drive. Paired with a continuously variable transmission, the system produces 243 horsepower. The rear motor enables a standard electronic on-demand AWD system with no drivetrain drag when not needed yet can offer necessary power when it is. The rear motor assists upon acceleration and when the front tires experience a reduction in traction.

The Crown Signia drivetrain results in an EPA-estimated 38 mpg in the city and 39 on the highway, leading to 38 for the combined figure, which can ease the expense of both everyday driving and long-distance road trips.

The Crown Signia features the same four-wheel independent suspension as the Crown sedan, with front MacPherson struts, rear multi-link geometry, and front and rear stabilizer bars. The system is tuned to prioritize a smooth yet controlled highway ride. The braking system features 12.9-inch ventilated discs in the front and 12.5-inch ventilated discs in the rear, with standard ABS.

Exterior

While derived from the Crown sedan, the Crown Signia has its own face with a more subtle and integrated body-color grille with a refined diamond mesh. Above is its own take on the Hammerhead front-end design language found on other Toyota cars with its slit-like LED daytime running lights. The LED headlights are tucked in the corners and almost hidden for a clean overall front design.

Free from off-road pretensions, the Crown Signia’s profile is long, low, and as smooth and refined as its ride. Less is more, with black pillars blending in with the side windows for an unbroken greenhouse from front to rear over a subtle wedge lower body. The tail lights continue the idea with a thin LED stretching across the entire width of the car and a center high-mount brake light that does the same under the rear roof spoiler. Even the roof rails are low-profile for a refined appearance. XLE models feature 19-inch wheels with 21-inch rims for the Limited grade.

Interior

The interior mirrors that of the Crown sedan with dual 12.3-inch screens on the same horizontal plane to facilitate quick glancing by the driver. The volume knob sits prominently. A full set of physical controls enables quick changes and is well within reach, thanks to low-profile center vents for the dual-zone climate control system. The center console sports a low-profile shift knob and a vertical wireless charger that saves paces and keeps your phone correctly positioned. The soft dash material ties the door panels, center console, and seats together with a unified look, while bronze trim on the dash, steering wheel, and door handles offers a touch of elegance. 

Passenger volume is 99.32 cubic feet or 96.45 with the Panoramic Moonroof. Rear legroom is 37.1 inches, and rear shoulder room is 55 inches. Behind the rear seat is 25.8 cubic feet of cargo space with 31.9 inches of cargo floor depth. When you fold the rear seats, integrated seat back panels can swing forward to extend the load floor to the front seat backs. So configured, there is 68.8 cubic feet of cargo space with a 6.625-foot load floor length. Both cargo space figures are reduced slightly by the panoramic roof.

Technology

Connectivity is effortless with wireless Apple and Android smartphone compatibility and Bluetooth audio and phone streaming. Subscription trials for Remote Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, Drive Connect, Safety Connect, and Service Connect provide additional interaction. The Digital Key ability to use your smartphone as a physical car key is standard on the Limited, which also features an 11-speaker, 800-watt JBL Premium Audio system with a powered subwoofer.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia arrives with the latest Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 3.0) suite of safety and driver assistance technologies, which includes:

Also standard are Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and the Limited grade includes Traffic Jam Assist, which helps reduce the stress of contending with freeway congestion. As of this writing, the Crown Signia has not yet been tested by either the NHTSA or IIHS, but the Crown sedan earned an overall 5-star rating from the NHTSA and is an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK.
