Performance
With its 74.7 kWh battery pack, the bZ Woodland has 375 horsepower, which is 37 more than the bZ Limited and XLE with all-wheel drive, and 154 and 207 more than the front-wheel drive models and base bZ XLE. While Toyota has not yet quoted performance numbers, the XLE and Limited AWD models have a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds, so the Woodland should be a bit quicker to the 60-mph mark.
Like the bZ, the Woodland has a maximum charge input of 150 kW and features the NACS standard charging port. With the pre-conditioning function, the batteries will be at a more optimal temperature for DC fast charging, which will aid charging in colder situations. The company says that a full charge will result in 260 miles of driving range, and when charging from 10-80 percent with a DC fast charger, depending on the conditions, the Woodland will only take 30 minutes to charge, getting you back on the road as quickly as possible. Every bZ Woodland also has Plug & Charge standard capability. This reduces the need for multiple charging apps, as more charging stations will be able to quickly identify your car and information just from being plugged in.
The 3-spoke steering wheel in the bZ also features paddle shifters that can control the amount of regenerative braking the vehicle has on the fly.
With its standard AWD system, the bZ Woodland has electric motors in the front and rear eAxles. This allows the Woodland to tow up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped. X-MODE is also standard and allows drivers to quickly select what type of surface they are driving on so that the Woodland can react accordingly. With the low-speed system Grip-Control, the Woodland uses its motor to help the SUV maintain better surface contact and limit slipping in off-road situations.
The new generation bZ features an 11-kW on-board AC charger for better Level One and Level Two charging. The previous generation bZ had a 7-kW on-board AC charger. Toyota put the charging port on the front right of the vehicle, and the bZ gets a dual-voltage charging cable.
Exterior
To differentiate the bZ Woodland from the bZ, Toyota took the standard SUV’s Hammerhead front end and added wide, black overfenders for a more muscular, off-road look. The vehicle is also nearly six inches longer than the regular bZ and offers standard roof rails for luggage or bike rack accessories. The Woodland also has one-off 18-inch aluminum wheels with removable covers that can be wrapped in available All-Terrain tires.
For 2026, the bZ Woodland will be available in Stepping Stone, Halo, Steel, Pavement, Raven Black, and Trueno Blue exterior paint.
Interior
The Toyota bZ Woodland offers a comfortable, spacious interior that feels very open. The SofTex®-trimmed seats offer heating for both front seats along with power adjustability for the driver. The interior can be specced in either Stone Brown or Black.
Because the bZ Woodland is almost six inches longer than the standard bZ, the rear cargo area grows from 27.7 cubic feet to more than 30 in the Woodland.
Technology
The new bZ Woodland offers a redesigned dashboard from the previous generation bZ, with a new instrument panel design that features the standard 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen and customizable ambient lighting. Drivers will appreciate the standard Multi-Information Display (MID) with a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster display that shows your current speed, charging information, warning indicators, and more.
Along with the 14-inch infotainment system, drivers will appreciate the inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as dual Bluetooth phone connectivity. The available WiFi Connect (a 30-day or 3GB free trial) offers an AT&T Hotspot with 4G and the ability to connect up to 5 devices. HD Radio and a free 3-month SiriusXM subscription are also included.
The 2026 Woodland comes standard with dual Qi-compatible (pronounced as “chee”) wireless phone chargers. The 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system features six speakers. However, an optional 9-speaker, 8-channel JBL Premium Audio system with a 9-inch subwoofer and 800-watt amplifier is optional on Limited grades.
Buyers looking for an in-car assistant need to look no further than Drive Connect in the bZ, which offers a 3-year trial that offers Intelligent Assistant. Simply say “Hey, Toyota,” and your assistant comes to life to answer commands for directions, Points of Interest (POI), changing the radio settings, cabin temperature, and more. In-car Cloud Navigation ensures the latest maps and traffic information are in your bZ. The POI search utilizes Google Points of Interest data. Destination Assist is also offered, giving you a 24/7 live agent to help you locate and get you to your destination.
With Toyota Remote Connect service, owners get a 3-year trial that enables them to turn on the headlights, activate the horn, buzzer (a subtle sound that confirms your vehicle has successfully locked or unlocked), and unlock the rear hatch. Using the remote climate features allows you to change the cabin temperature along with seat heaters and ventilators, heated steering wheel, and defroster. You can even set any of these on a schedule to activate at certain times of the day. You can also utilize Remote Charging with Remote Connect, where you can check your vehicle’s charging status, start or stop charging, edit charging schedules, and find charging stations nearby with the Toyota app.
The available Toyota Digital Key uses your smartphone in conjunction with the Remote Connect service to act as your key if you misplace, forget, or can’t carry your physical key. The Digital Key allows you to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle with the Toyota app.
Safety
Like its standard sibling, the bZ Woodland features standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. TSS 3.0 includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), Proactive Driving Assist (PDA), Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Safe Exit Alert, as well as Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
