2026 Toyota Tundra

Performance    

The 2026 non-electrified Tundra carries on with the drivetrains introduced with the third generation. The entry-level SR model features the i-FORCE 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, producing 348 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 405 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. One step up is the SR5 model and a more powerful version of the same engine, producing 389 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 479 pound-feet of torque at 2,400 rpm. In addition to the SR5, this is the engine used in the non-electrified versions of the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 grades.    

The i-FORCE MAX hybrid is standard on the Capstone trim and available in the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition trims. The i- FORCE MAX 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid produces 437 horsepower @ 5,200 rpm and 583 pound-feet of torque @ 2,400 rpm. The hybrid system uses a single permanent magnet synchronous motor between the engine and transmission, producing 48 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. While the hybrid system is mainly on hand to increase power, two-wheel-drive models do add about two mpg across the EPA city/hwy/comb estimates at 20/24/22 for most grades.     

All 2026 Tundra models use a 10-speed Electronically Controlled Automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT[-i]), sequential shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, and TOW/HAUL driving modes. All models have an independent double-wishbone front suspension with a stabilizer bar and twin-tube shock absorbers. At the rear is an independent multi-link arrangement with coil springs and outboard-mounted twin-tube shock absorbers.    

Maximum payload varies by vehicle configuration, drivetrain, and grade, ranging from 1,575 pounds for the 1794 Edition 4×4 and Platinum 4×4 to 1,940 pounds for the SR and SR5 4×2 Double Cab. Maximum towing varies by configuration and ranges from 11,170 pounds for the CrewMax 4×4 to 12,000 pounds for the Double Cab 4×2.   

Exterior  

All 2026 Tundra models have four cabin doors with a choice of either a Double Cab or CrewMax cab, the latter of which adds 8.3 inches of rear legroom for a total of 46.1. Double Cab models are exclusively available with an 8.1’ bed and are also available with a 6.5’ bed. Most CrewMax grades offer either a 6.5’ or 5.5’ bed. Specific configuration availability is as follows:   

Interior   

The dashboard on the 2026 Tundra features a chunky, purposeful-looking, appearance. The wide center console provides plenty of storage along with the shift lever. Lower trims feature analog gauges and a driver-information display while higher trim levels feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.  

Materials get upgraded as you climb the model hierarchy, with the 1794 Edition featuring leather upholstery and massaging front seats, along with American walnut interior trim, acoustically laminated side windows, and available head-up display.   

Technology   

The base SR has an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. However, all other grades come standard with a 14.0-inch touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility is standard on all models. Both a 12-speaker JBL audio system and Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging are available on the Limited and standard on all above grades. Keyless entry and start are standard on all models, as is automatic climate control. Dual-zone climate control is available on the SR5 trim and standard for each trim above. SR5 models and above feature Drive Mode Select with Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes and two different TOW/HAUL modes. Higher models feature Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom drive modes.   

The very useful Trailer Backup Guide system with Straight Path Assist (SPA) is available or standard on all grades except SR. One-touch power windows and a power rear window are standard on all models. The new wireless trailer camera system increases visibility with a Wi-Fi camera you can attach to the rear of your trailer and view on the digital rearview mirror or center multimedia screen.  

Safety     

All 2026 Tundra models feature the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 suite of safety and driver assist systems, which include:

Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and trailer detection is available on SR5 and standard on all higher grades. All models have eight airbags with knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. Also standard on all 2026 Tundra grades is the Star Safety System, which includes:
