PerformanceĀ Ā
The 2025 Sequoia model line is powered by the powerful twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain, which first appeared in the 2022 Tundra. The power plant produces a robust 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, which is significantly more than its competitors’ standard and even optional engines. An electric motor producing 48 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque is positioned between the engine and the standard 10-speed automatic transmission and is fed by a 1.87kWh sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery which is charged by both the engine and regenerative braking. EPA estimated city/highway/combined fuel economy is 21/24/22 for 4×2 models and 19/22/20 for most 4×4 models.Ā Ā
The 10-speed transmission is electronically controlled and features sequential shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, and TOW/HAUL driving modes. 4X2 models feature an automatic limited-slip differential. The part-time 4WD system features an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case and an automatic limited-slip differential.Ā Ā Ā
All models feature an independent double-wishbone front suspension with a stabilizer bar. Most grades include twin-tube shock absorbers, while the TRD Sport features sport-tuned Bilstein shocks, and the TRD Off-Road grade has monotube Bilstein shocks with off-road tuning. The TRD Pro is the most off-road focused in the lineup and features a TRD off-road suspension with 2.5-inch FOX Internal Bypass coil-overs, rear remote-reservoir shocks, and a TRD PRO front stabilizer bar.Ā Ā
The rear suspension is multi-link with coil springs and outboard-mounted twin-tube shock absorbers. An adaptive variable suspension system that can automatically change damping rates based on conditions is available, as is a load-leveling air suspension that keeps ride height and posture stable regardless of rear load.Ā Ā
Dual-piston front brake calipers and 13.9-inch ventilated discs bring everything to a stop. At the rear, 13.6-inch discs are used. The towing capacity ranges from 8,980 pounds on a 4WD Capstone to 9,520 pounds on a 2WD SR5.Ā Ā
ExteriorĀ Ā
The Sequoia resembles but does not copy the Tundra design. It has its own version of the large Tundra grille and T-shaped LED headlight clusters. Both headlights and tail lights are recessed in scallops in the side body that dip and disappear at the doors, giving the body a dynamic appearance. The side window treatment is divided by black B- and C- pillars and privacy glass to provide a clean shape that stretches back to the strong body-color D-pillar. Wheel sizes range from 18-inches for SR-5 and the TRD Pro to 20-inch designs elsewhere in the lineup and 22-inch dark chrome alloy wheels on the Capstone flagship grade. Trim and grille treatments vary by grade. A new color called Mudbath is available exclusively on the TRD Pro. A 1794 Grade is introduced for the first time.Ā
InteriorĀ
The Sequoia is an attractive and uncluttered place to do business. Silver trim defines various dash areas, and physical controls allow instant climate and other system adjustments without fishing through screen menus. Standard features include heated front seats, a power moonroof, and a 12.3-inch configurable driver gauge cluster.Ā Ā
Depending upon the grade, the second-row seating is either a bench of three across or captainās chairs. Either way, the seatbacks recline for comfort or fold down/tumble forward to create a flat load floor. The third-row seat backs also recline and can slide fore and aft depending on need. With the third row down, a Adjustable Cargo Shelf System features a removable shelf that can be set in various storage positions depending on the situation. The 1794, Platinum, and Capstone grades feature front seats with an integrated massage function that will massage your choice of upper body, lower body, or both, with a range of intensities.Ā
Because of the 6-inch slide, cargo space behind the third row varies from 11.5 cubic feet to almost double that of 22.3. With the third row folded the space expands to 49 cubic feet and can hold as much as 86.9 when you turn the Sequoia into a two-seater.Ā Ā Ā
TechnologyĀ Ā
The SR5 has an 8-inch center screen. Available on the SR5 and standard on the rest of the model line is a prominent and easy-to-use 14-inch touch screen. Wireless Android Auto⢠& Apple CarPlayĀ® are standard on all models. The Intelligent Assistant, available with Drive Connect, enables simple, intuitive voice-activated commands to search for directions, find POIs, adjust audio controls, change cabin temperatures, and more. The cloud-based native navigation system offered through Drive Connect allows real-time over-the-air updates for mapping and points of interest (POI). Google POI data is integrated to ensure up-to-date search capability.Ā Ā
The many conveniences of the Safety Connect and Service Connect subscriptions are complementary for the first ten years. Bluetooth phone connectivity can connect to two phones simultaneously. A Wi-Fi Connect subscription provides a 4G AT&T hotspot for up to five devices. Also, it enables you to link your separate Apple MusicĀ® and Amazon Music subscriptions to your vehicle with Integrated Streaming.Ā Ā
The new wireless trailer camera system increases visibility with a Wi-Fi camera you can attach to the rear of your trailer and that is displayed on the digital rearview mirror or center multimedia screen.Ā
Safety and Driver AssistanceĀ Ā
Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the model line and features several technologies that both increase safety and assist you in driving. Included in the system are:Ā Ā
- Pre-Collision System w/Pedestrian DetectionĀ Ā
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)Ā Ā
- Lane Departure Alert w/Steering AssistĀ Ā
- Automatic High Beams Road Sign AssistĀ Ā
Also standard are Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Trailer Merge Warning, and Front and Rear Parking Assist, which includes automatic braking.Ā
