​​Toyota Marks 40 Years of Manufacturing in Kentucky, Indiana with New Investments​ 

For over 40 years, Toyota has committed itself to producing the highest-quality new cars, trucks, SUVs, and crossovers built in America, and it continues to honor that tradition as it invests further in its successful assembly plants in both Kentucky and Indiana.  

In November of 2025, Toyota announced a $10 billion investment in its American production facilities over the following five years. One billion dollars of that sum is now being used to further upgrade plants in Georgetown, KY, and Princeton, IN.  

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, located a short drive away from Cincinnati, OH, is not only celebrating its 40th anniversary this year but is also one of Toyota’s largest manufacturing facilities in the entire world. Millions of cars and trucks, along with their engines, began their lives within this massive plant, which continues to produce the Camry, the RAV4, and future battery-electric vehicles, including the forthcoming 2027 Highlander EV. 

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana may be ten years newer than the Kentucky facility, but it’s still managed to produce over 8 million vehicles to date, including today’s Grand Highlander, Sienna, and the Lexus TX. 

These new investments in both plants are part of Toyota’s commitment to American customers to build the safe, high-quality vehicles they demand, and are largely focused upon increasing the overall capacity of both factories without sacrificing any of Toyota’s core principles.  

Additionally, the Kentucky factory supports the Driving Possibilities program through grants awarded by the Toyota USA Foundation. These grants expand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education and resources near the facility. This initiative brings together community, education leaders, local and national non-profits, and industry partners towards co-creating programs to prepare young people for future careers.  

An additional grant was made to support the Manufacturing Engineering program at Eastern Kentucky University. This is to help advance the next generation of workers into the production sector. 

These two commitments reinforce Toyota’s presence in the U.S.A, by ensuring that current and future products will be produced and sold here. Over the years, Toyota has produced over 34 million vehicles from 11 assembly facilities n this country. That includes assembling Tundras and Sequoias in Texas, as well as Corollas in Mississippi and the Corolla Cross in Alabama.
